In the carrion night, I cleave through flesh

A heaving breath of rust and mesh

The marrow throbs beneath the skin

A fever tide, it pulls me in

This is not decay, this is the womb

Where maggots feast and roses bloom

I gorge upon the breathing grime

A shadow slipped outside of time

No prayer to chant, no light to scan

I am the plague, no longer man

O cancer wish, your hunger done

My throat still burns, it drinks no sun

Baptized in rot, absolved in heat

I sing the hymns the dead repeat

The mirror cracks, reveals my bones

The body rends, the spirit moans

To shed the lie, to drown the sky

To breathe the void to beautify
